About Scherzinger Drilling

Before a drilled shaft, a retaining wall, or a deep foundation can hold anything up, someone has to go down first. In Greater Cincinnati, that company has most often been Scherzinger Drilling.

Founded in 1956 by Eugene Scherzinger, who recognized the need for deep foundations while running his poured concrete wall business, Scherzinger Drilling has grown from a regional startup with chain-and-cable equipment into one of the area’s most capable specialty foundation contractors. Eugene’s son Ken took over in the mid-1970s and moved the operation to a 36,000-square-foot facility on 11 acres in Harrison, Ohio, equipped for complete rig maintenance, custom tool fabrication, and dispatching. Today the company completes more than 500 projects and 200,000 lineal feet of drilled shafts annually.

Their work spans the full range of deep foundation challenges: drilled shafts up to 13.5 feet in diameter and 125 feet deep, earth retention and retaining walls, micro piles, augercast piles, and limited access drilling on sites where conventional equipment simply can’t go. Truck-mounted and track-mounted rigs, combined with custom tooling, allow Scherzinger to take on residential, commercial, and industrial projects across terrain that would stop most contractors in their tracks.

Nearly seven decades after Eugene drilled his first shaft, Scherzinger Drilling remains a family-owned business, a quiet constant underneath some of the most significant structures in Greater Cincinnati.
